January Offers: 3 Of The Best UK Hotel Deals
January can be a bit of a drag so why not plan an adventure and get something in the diary to look forward to? Many of the best UK hotels have special offers running throughout the winter, designed to fill bedrooms during the low season. Book a UK staycation and escape for a while – here are three of my favourite January hotel offers:
1. Carbis Bay Estate, St Ives, Cornwall
Not only is the hotel currently offering 20% off 2023 summer bookings, it also has a Coastal Escape Dine & Stay offer for stays up to 31st March 2023. Prices start from £249 per night for two people staying in January, February stays are slightly more expensive. The offer includes a stay in the Main House, a two-course dinner at one of the Carbis Bay Estate restaurants, breakfast and morning or afternoon use of the C Bay Spa. The spa boasts a large heated outdoor infinity swimming pool, garden sauna cabin, hydro pool and fitness suite. T&Cs apply.
If you don’t know the hotel, Carbis Bay Estate is a luxurious coastal estate close to St Ives with a privately owned 25-acre Blue Flag beach. Pitching itself as one of the most exclusive hotels in Cornwall, guests can stay in the Main House, Beach Lodges and Beach Suites, enjoy the state of the art spa and outdoor pool with stunning views of St Ives Bay, eat good food and escape from it all in this beautiful corner of Cornwall. The hotel has a rich history of welcoming famous literary figures and holidaymakers since architect Silvanus Trevail built it in 1894.

2. Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa, Climping, West Sussex
Part of the Historic Sussex Hotels Group, Bailiffscourt is located next to Climping beach, close to Arundel in West Sussex. I’ve stayed at the group’s other hotels – Ocekenden Manor in Cuckfield and The Spreadeagle in Midhurst – and all of them offer guests old-world charm, fine food and excellent spa facilities. Read The Spreadeagle review here.
A ‘medieval’ retreat dreamt up by a 1920s aristocrat, Bailiffscourt is a medieval-style house set in 30 acres of parkland within walking distance of the pretty shingle beach. There’s 39 bedrooms in a series of houses and cottages, a 13th century chapel, rose-filled courtyard, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, croquet lawn and tennis courts.
Book between 16th January and 3rd February for stays between 17th January and 27th April 2023. Two adults sharing can enjoy a Climping original or Climping bedroom, dinner, bed and breakfast and use of the spa for £349 per night.

3. The Rose, Deal
The Rose is a small but perfectly formed 200-year hotel that’s been reimagined by husband and wife team Christopher Hicks and Alex Bagner, with interiors by Nicola Harding. I stayed last year after a solo road trip along the Kent coast and loved everything about it – read the full review here. Deal is full of London creatives who have escaped the city to set up shop in this atmospheric, historic fishing town, so expect to find some great independent shops, excellent restaurants and hip hangouts.
This nine-room hotel is crammed with vintage furnishings, modern artwork and unique design touches. Bedrooms are dark and cosy with record players and vinyl for your in-room entertainment. Tea, coffee and a decanter of brandy are kept in well-stocked communal areas outside the bedrooms and there’s a buzzy bar and restaurant downstairs.
Book a midweek stay in January and get a bedroom, breakfast and two-course meal for two people for £170. Valid on stays until 8th February, Sunday to Wednesday only.
