Review: Ginger Pig Mews, Hove, UK
Escape to Brighton and stay in one of the gorgeous new mews houses at The Ginger Pig in Hove, UK. Perfect for a self-catering break in Brighton and just minutes from the beach, this luxury accommodation in Brighton ticks all the boxes. I was invited to review the three bedroomed mews house and could have happily stayed there all week.
Recently renovated, The Ginger Pig Mews have been transformed from the original stable block into the perfect Brighton bolt hole. With exposed brick walls, luxury furnishings and original touches, The Ginger Pig Mews fill a much-needed gap in the Brighton accommodation market. Pair it with the Ginger Pig’s 11 guest bedrooms above the restaurant and why would you stay anywhere else when visiting the city?

There are three separate houses available to rent: one three-bedroomed and two two-bedroomed. Although it’s self catering, it feels like you’re staying in a high-end hotel, with all the special touches you’d expect. On the ground floor there’s a spacious lounge with a huge sofa, TV, hand picked furniture, accessible double bedroom with en suite bathroom and well stocked kitchen. There’s everything you need here including an oven, microwave, coffee maker, washing machine and dishwasher as well as plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses and utensils.
Upstairs there are two additional double bedrooms, one with an en suite shower room, and a master bathroom with rolltop bath and my favourite Cowshed toiletries. All bedrooms boast luxury Royal Warrant Hypnos mattresses (the same used at Soho Houses hotels), fluffy bathrobes, high thread count bed linens, plenty of hanging space, air conditioning and views out onto the private, peaceful courtyard. Throughout the Mews there’s colourful, contemporary artwork by Victoria Topping. If you don’t want to cook you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Ginger Pig, in my opinion one of the best restaurants in Brighton.

The whole project has been overseen by the Gingers, Pamela and Ben McKellar. I’ve watched their empire grow in the 18 years I’ve lived in Brighton and their passion for food, dedication to hospitality and friendly, approachable nature shines through in everything they do. The Mews are a great addition to the Brighton hotel scene I’m sure they’ll be a big hit with friends and families looking for a luxury stay in Brighton.
